Simulation Projects

I have worked in mutiple simulation programs that have included both hardware & software. Amoung the most notable program efforts are :

McDonnell Douglas F-18 Simulation Domes:

As the F-18 program was coming on-line Mc Donnell Douglas was having difficulty in developing a system that would control the cameras that took imagery of their terrain board to allow cockpit simulation scenarios to be developed. I designed & systems engineered a solution built around a Vax minicomputer and a FPS 120 B array processor that could control the xyz axis needed.

6 DOF Simulation :

Using DSP based modules custom in conjunction with custom cards and standard industrial computers drove a 6 DOF Simulation controller. Next generation design is based on Single Board Computers and FPGA modules

Software Simulation Projects :

Have revolved around various aspects of Math Lab / Simulink Blocksets for application areas in Automotive & Defense markets. Systems sold were to General Motors , Ford , Boeing and other Fortune 500 / 1000 size clients.

Medical Device Sales & Marketing Experience

Medical Device Sales & Marketing experience has been gained through selling embedded computing hardware & software including digital signal processing , image processing ,vision systems and data storage products. These types of products were sold into various application areas to companies whose end deliverable included my technology. Example Application Areas:

Cardio Imaging

Included image processing systems and cameras that formed the cornerstone of both research and deployed systems. Customers included GE Medical, Picker , ADAC Labs & various teaching
hospitals.

MRI & CT Systems

Sold digital signal processing hardware to major tier 1 suppliers who in turn packaged turnkey
systems that included the scanner as well as display consol and integtaed computing system.
Many times the end customer desired access to the computing part of the system so I became involved in adding in extra hardware to provide this capability. These interactives provided me with in depth understanding of the various aspects of medical imaging systems and the inter workings of capital equipment procurement in both managed and academic health care sites.

Bio - Imaging Application Areas

While at CSPI I was involved in the growth and development of their Bio-Imaging Group.
This group focused on computer vision systems for the life sciences. See their informative web site @ http://www.scanalytics.com . Several areas I worked in included development of both research and deployed devices in the areas of fluorescence imaging , motion control and gel analysis. The key components of the system I provided included high speed computing and camera acquisition. This experience gave me a domain understanding of life sciences computing.

Other areas of experience are in building interactive systems in brain scanning , ocular research,
radiaton treatment ,PACS systems architectures and digital subtraction units.
